The team members of Every Dot Connects were some of the earliest members and co-founders of the Social Media Club (SMC). Therefore, it’s especially gratifying for us to see the SMC take steps to form an interim board, comprised of 42 well-regarded industry leaders, with the goal of creating a new legal structure for a full-fledged professional association.
The interim board will oversee development of membership goals, acceleration of local chapter development, and will work toward an increase in adoption of industry standards and ethics. The newly named/appointed members of the interim board are leading social media analysts, bloggers and business leaders, and are as follows:

A phenomenal inagural group for the interim board (though a big board eh?) Some of these thought leaders, social media studs, are already some of my favorite reads (Brogan, Heuer, and Owyang), and I’m certainly looking forward to acclimating myself to many of the others.

Ryan, this interim board will serve in an advisory role and will eventually help select the formal board of directors, which will be much smaller, after we get our legal structure in place as a professional association. Chris invited all these industry leaders, thinking that 2 out of 3 of them would probably decline due to being so busy. But they were all so enthusiastic and eager to help that we wound up with a huge group. I think that’s fantastic — an amazing amount of brain power and experience being offered up to help guide us forward.
